Amazon Delivery Facility Project (Augercast Piles)

The first of it’s kind in Hawaii, the new Amazon Delivery Facility was completed at the end of 2022 and called for approximately 1100 18” dia. augercast (ACIP or CFA) piles. Due to the tight schedule required by the Owner, Kelikai brought in a two rig team and setup, initially comprised of our BG22H and BG33V. Then once our Casagrande B300 rig arrived from the mainland we swapped it into the mix and it literally hit the ground running. We quickly were ahead of schedule, allowing Swinerton Builders to start excavation and cap construction.

Included in our scope was the demolition and chipping of the augercast pile tops. We used our brand new pile cropper, which allowed us to double our forecasted production, and minimize the arduous hand chipping for our crew.

This project was a long time in the making and we want to give a big Mahalo to our GC, Swinerton Builders for allowing us to be a part of this exciting project! Gary Gordon (Project Superintendent) and his team were great to work with and really did everything needed to allow us to excel and beat our production goals.
